About our coffee
What's the Angry Meter?
Our way of making coffee easy to choose. Every coffee is labeled Calm, Mood Swing, or Angry. Calm is smooth and familiar, with chocolate and caramel. Mood Swing balances fruit with restraint. Angry is fruit-forward and wild, including co-ferments and advanced fermentation. Pick your mood.
Why "Angry"?
Anger is a call to act, and there's plenty in coffee to be angry about, including gatekeeping. If you're not angry, you're not awake.
How do you roast?
We don't roast light or dark. We roast each coffee right, based on its origin, process, and varietal. We start with data, check color and weight loss for consistency, and trust taste above all. More on how we roast.
Where does your coffee come from?
We source from growing regions across Asia, Africa, and the Americas. We cup constantly, and we do our best to build relationships with producers, not just rely on importers.
Are you transparent?
Everyone in coffee says they are, and everyone likes to talk about it. The truth is, it's not that straightforward. If you want to dig into it, reach out to us at info@theangryroaster.com and we'll give you an honest answer.
How should I rest and store my coffee?
We recommend resting your coffee for two weeks or more after roasting, then keeping it sealed in an airtight container.
Do you sell whole bean or ground?
Whole bean only.
Ordering and shipping
When do you roast and ship?
We roast every Friday, and on busy weeks on Tuesday too. Coffee in stock ships the same or next business day. Anything else ships after the next roast, usually by the Monday after.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes. In Canada, orders over $65 CAD ship free. To the US, coffee orders over $90 CAD ship free.
Can I return coffee?
We can't accept returns on coffee. If there's a problem with your order, reach out to us.
